Tallit Sizing
Tallit Sizing
The standard tallit size for women is 18-20 in. wide by 72 in. long. For men, large sizes are 52-58 in. wide by 72 in. long and the smaller size is 42 in. wide by 72 in. long. I can also make any other size you like, for example I could make it longer for a taller person. Let me know what your dream tallit looks like!

These are the Festival Windows at Temple Emanuel in Winston-Salem, NC. Below is a picture of the replica tallit I painted on white silk! This was a gift for their Rabbi.
The below tallitot (for sisters) are replicas of two stained glass windows at West Suburban Temple Har Zion in River Forest, IL shown below each tallit. The window colors on the tallitot are much brighter than the pictures show.
The below tallit was hand painted by the very talented Bar Mitzvah boy! I added the atarah and corners.

I have also made tallitot for a mother and daughter using pieces of the mother's grandfather's and father's tallitot and tzitzit, lace head coverings from both grandmothers, part of her wedding dress and the kippah her husband wore in their wedding.
I once sewed a piece of a deceased father's tallit on the back of his daughter's tallit. When they said the Mourner's Kadish during the service, she kissed that fabric in memory of him.

Wording on the atarah
Wording on the atarah
I hand paint the standard Hebrew tzitzit blessing on the atarah in gold or silver paint or any other color you desire. You can also have the wording of your choice including your Hebrew name, or a passage from the Torah or prayer book. Suggestions:
The Shema:
The last line of Adon Olam: Into His hand I commit my spirit when I sleep, and I wake and with my spirit, my body. The Lord is with me, I will not fear.
The first line of Aleinu: It is our duty to praise the Master of all to ascribe greatness to the Author of creation.
The last line of Aleinu (Oseh shalom): May He who makes peace in His high places grant peace for us and for all Israel; and say, Amen.
Etz Chaim Hi: A tree of life to those who hold fast to it, and all who cling to it find happiness.
Shiru L'Adonai: Sing unto G*d. Sing a new song. Sing to G*d all the earth. Sing to G*d, bless G*d's name.

What keepsake could be more special? Don't leave your dress in a box, wear it to services and enjoy it! Or use part of it to make a tallit for your child(ren) or grandchild(ren).
The below tallit was made from the Bat Mitzvah girl's grandmother's wedding dress covered in roses. The girl's Hebrew name means Garden of Roses!

I can paint your desired wedding information on a tallit as well! On the corners I painted the bride & groom's names and the wedding date.
Below is a groom's sailboat painted on the atarah and the wedding was on the deck of their sailing club!
Or would you like a large tallit to wrap around the bride and groom for a wedding or anniversary celebration?
How about a beautiful keepsake chuppah?
How about a beautiful keepsake chuppah?
This chuppah (left) was tied onto a gazebo. It had a silk band on the end with the bride & groom's names and the wedding date on it.
This amazing chuppah (right) was made from the groom's mother's wedding dress and the bride's mother's veil. What a special family heirloom it is!!
How about a chuppah to tie onto poles? This chuppah (left) was 100 in. on each side! Two sides had the Hebrew Ani L'Dodi, v'Dodi Li, and the other two sides had the English translation, I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine.
This special chuppah (right) now hangs in the couple's home. It features their names & the date in English & Hebrew, the Philadelphia skyline and stars reaching up from the city. Some of the stars are cut out with the light shining through.
How's this for an enchanted setting for a wedding?
