Testimonials

"Meg Fisher, founder of Elite Tallit, Marietta, GA., designed and constructed the tallitot for Eliana, Micaela, and Nancy. Meg is at the threshold of fulfilling a personal dream of creating tallitot that are fashioned from light and air that quietly illuminate the private space of and sacred shelter for the wearer. We feel so privileged to be among her first patrons."

"It is truly amazing. She absolutely loves it and so do David and I. I can't even express my level of gratitude for making this piece of artwork for my family. Went into the room where it was hanging this morning and touched all of the leaves and remembered who they were for and it was just wonderful. I feel a waterproof mascara commercial coming on...

"We picked the tallit up from the Post Office today, and we LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! I would call you to tell you how much we love it, but I'll start bawling in your ear--I'm all emotional over how beautiful and perfect it is!! The bag is so sweet, with the lovely wood button, and you even found thread to match. Rylan is home today with the flu, and you totally made her day--she keeps saying, "It's so beautiful!" :) Thank you SOOOO much for your patience with us and for putting so much care into Rylan's tallit. I'm so thrilled that I stumbled upon your site, and I'll definitely share your information with other families. Thanks again!!!!"

“Meg takes a collaborative approach from beginning to end of a sewing project and consults with the client at each step. She is meticulous about her work, whether it's alterations or designing and creating a tallit. I've been impressed with how she balances her creativity with her ability to be detail oriented. In addition, she is willing to experiment and doesn't shy away from a challenge, i.e. creating the prayer for the collar of the tallit, until it is completed to her and the customer's satisfaction. I have been very pleased with her work and have had several compliments on the tallit she made for me. I highly recommend Meg.”

“Pleasing a teenage girl is no easy prospect. Meg managed to pull it off. After unsuccessfully perusing online tallis sites and our synagogue gift shop with my daughter, I knew it wasn't going to be simple to find what she liked. We had seen Meg's tallitot on display at several events and my daughter settled on one that seemed our best option if the colors could be changed to suit her. She described what we wanted to Meg, who put us in touch with a shawl maker to dye the fabric the colors my daughter desired. Of course it was a gamble, but my picky daughter was surprisingly satisfied with the final product and color-coordinated tallis bag. If only other decisions regarding the Bat Mitzvah were as trouble-free.”

The Women of the Wall have an Elite Tallit!

I made this burgundy and gold tallit and donated it to the Women of the Wall, a group in Israel that supports women in reading from the torah and praying at the Kotel. They meet every month on Rosh Chodesh. In Tevet (December) 2010 my tallit was given to Rachel, who read from the torah previously without a tallit. Rachel reports, "Anat Hoffman said she gives it to a woman who promises to come every single month for a year. I took the challenge!!!" Rachel is in this picture wearing the tallit I made. I couldn't be more proud of this! I hope to meet them someday. http://womenofthewall.org.il/
